Hot Springs Here We Come
Why would a fifth generation Texan who has lived in the state all her life (except for six years in Trinidad, W.I. in the 70s) pack up and move to another state?
I can’t answer the why, I can just tell you we are. Packed (almost) and marking the days. By the end of the month, we hope to head that way, our household belongings coming along behind us.
Why Hot Springs?
Native American groups were using the springs as a gathering spot as much as 10,000 years ago. They called the area “The valley of the vapors.” It was considered a place of peace where various tribes could put aside their differences and gather to enjoy the relaxation and rejuvenation of the springs.
Sounds nice, huh.
Add to that, beautiful mountains, numerous lakes, and four seasons. Why not Arkansas. Add to that, we are more centrally located to our children and grandchildren. A win all the way around.
Soon as we get unpacked, I will be getting acquainted with Arkansas writers! And who knows–Sidra Smart just might have a case that takes her to Hot Springs! (But where’s that peace we talked about?)
Hot Springs is a lovely area. Wishing you lots of happiness in your new home!
Thanks, Diane! We REALLY hope you and Mike will come visit us! We would love it!! Stay in touch!
I can’t wait to see the new house — especially my room. Moving is always a time filled with excitement and anticipation. Also a lot of work. It’s like writing a book. You hate the drudgery of doing it but love the thrill of having done it.
